Categories

Originally founded to reduce operational and commercial risk on newspapers and magazines, we now extend our expert approach to a wide range of complex, difficult to manage, often direct-store-delivered categories in some of the largest retailers across the UK.

Newspapers & magazines

The original reason that rascal was founded in 2004. Our app to manage the category sits on over 32,000 devices across UK retail, simplifying processes and reducing risk.

Lottery

We hold an exclusive licence with Allwyn to provide an end-to-end retail management solution that is live in over 3,000 stores. Proven to reduce losses whilst driving sales and availability.

Collectables

A growth category and footfall driver that includes stickers and trading cards. Delivered via the newspapers and magazines supply chain. Shrink risk is high but can be mitigated via rascal data and tech.

Books

Our data services and streamlined processes assist the management of books in approaching 1,000 stores either via a direct relationship with the retailer or in support of 3rd party suppliers.

DVDs

A simple solution with roots dating back to 2014 that gives retailers and suppliers the visibility and controls required to trade the category particularly around major releases.

Direct-store-delivered

Our approach and solutions are designed to smooth the edges and round the corners of the retail edge cases. The tricky 5% of products all retailers carry that take up 95% of store effort and process. In this article we explore what we mean by ‘complex categories’ and how data governance and process controls can bring these edge cases closer to the norm.

What our customers' say

The first person I call to help manage this category as closely as I possibly can is rascal. That’s the sort of embroidered trust I’ve got in them as a business and the data that they provide for us in terms of making those decisions.
